Stylecraft Elements Blog Tour - Jewelled Pebbles Blanket

Hi everyone!

We are so excited to be part of the Stylecraft Blogstars, and participating in this 2017 blog tour! Hopefully you all visited Polly Plum at Every Trick on the Hook yesterday and entered the yarn pack giveaway there ;)

As you know, we absolutely adore the Stylecraft Batik yarn, and the new Elements yarn is just as pretty and squishy!

Our chosen pack for the blog tour is called Rainforest, using the Platinum colourway of Elements and matching and contrasting colours Teal, Old Gold, Pistachio, Violet, Plum and Raspberry.

We wanted to do something a bit quirky with this yarn, so developed a pram blanket that finishes about 80cm by 85cm, made from tesselating heptagons and pentagons. You could easily make it bigger with more yarn.

The blanket is all Join-as-you-go, so no sewing a million motifs together, and we have provided a colour chart of the blanket to help you get the colour spread nice and random!

And those colours... all we could think of was looking at pebbled pools through the water, with precious jewels instead of boring rock pebbles. Hence, the Jewelled Pebbles Blanket!

Want to win a Rainforest Yarn Pack to make this pram blanket? The giveaway is open until 10am GMT tomorrow!

For the next stop on the blog tour and another chance to win a yarn pack, make sure you visit Cherry Heart tomorrow!

All the blogstars are participating in the blog tour, and you can visit them at

Happy 2nd Birthday, Crochet Between Worlds!

Hello ladies and gents!

Our blog is two years old and thus we decided to have a bit of a celebration!

Two years - wow! So much happened since our first blog post! We got tons of lovely comments and likes, made new friends and even got to meet some of our blog readers in person! The world of crochet blogs is such  wonderful place and we are really lucky to be a part of it.

In the last two years both of us expanded our crochet skills a lot - many new stitches, many new patterns and oh my, so many new ideas. Man, the more one sees and makes, the more ideas come up. It would be awesome to have more hours a day for crochet. And other creative things of course.

Because we are so happy and thankful for each and everyone of our followers, we decided to have a little give away. It runs til this Friday and we ship world wide. So what can you win?

1st Place: A parcel which includes all the necessary items (yarn, safety eyes and stuffing) to make a teddy from Anne's newest pattern which will released this Wednesday

2nd Place: Choose three from our paid patterns

3rd Place: Choose two of our paid patterns

4th Place: Chose one of our paid patterns

If we get more than 100 entires, I (Anne) will also throw a surprise yarn package in!

The winners will be announced on the 11th of October 2015. The winners need to contact us via crochetbetweenworlds@gmail.com within four days after the announcement. If a prize isn't claimed we will  draw a runner up.

Take care
Michelle & Anne

P.S. You can enter daily!

Zpagetti Yarn Plays

Hello all!

I hope you all had a wonderful Pentecost weekend! I was at work all weekend but it was good fun. Every year at Pentecost there is a huge meeting of current and former scholarship holders in Villigst. Many generations, many talks and much fun! Not much time for crochet but still a wonderful weekend! :)

Last week I was very lucky indeed! Some time ago I won the give away at Emerald Cottage and this week Jill's parcel arrived. Wow! Look at all these wonderful goodies!! Thank you so much Jill!! I really love the postcard - such a cute, cute kitten!

After I finished the blanket I talked about last week, I need to use some bigger yarn. So I went for Zpagetti Yarn. From a 2,5 mm hook to a 8 mm one. Quite the change! Most people use 12 mm hooks for the Zpagetti Yarn but I prefer smaller ones. I just wish there were Clover Amour hooks in larger sizes!

I made some trivets using the Maybelle Flower pattern. Already made some last year and they are pretty useful. It's a bit hard on the hands and shoulder to make them but in the end the finished trivet is worth it.

As I have plenty of Zpagetti yarn (went on a shopping spree last year), I will make more of these. Not sure what I will do with them though. Probably give them as gift or I might even sell them. We will see.

Did you work with T-Shirt yarn yet? And do you have tricks which save the shoulders and hands?!

Take care
Anne

Ta-dah! Overlay Crochet Mandala No.1!

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had a good week :)

Anne and I have not had such a good week - we have both been hit really hard by the fatigue monster. Stupid monster. When Anne comes to visit me in December we are going to crochet ourselves a Fatigue Monster so we can stick pins in it and hit it with a hammer!!!

To cheer ourselves up we are having a little giveaway on Instagram, to celebrate reaching 500 followers! If you are on Instagram and haven't found us yet, we are @crochetbetweenworlds :) Go find us and enter the giveaway!!

You might remember that last week, on a rainy and cold day here in Sydney, I posted about my crochet wishlist. This week I really needed some bright colour and quick satisfaction, so I decided to have a go at CAROcreated's Crochet Overlay Mandala No.1. Here are lots of photos of it, because I love it so much :D

Even the back is pretty!
