Success at the Sydney Royal Easter Show!

Hello everyone! 

 Just a short blog post tonight, but I'm exploding with excitement that I just have to share with you all!!

 Tonight was the Preview Exhibition for the Sydney Royal Easter Show Arts and Crafts Competition. You might remember that I entered a Road Trip Scarf, a candy happypotamus (General Millie, Captain Poprocks' future wife) and my Rainbow Twist and Turn Bargello Afghan into the competition. It was my first time entering, so I wasn't expecting anything - just getting my entries on display would have been amazing.



BUT! I did so much better than that! Not only did all three of my items end up on display...

... I won SECOND PLACE in the Crochet Art section for the Rainbow Twist and Turn Bargello Afghan...


... and FIRST PLACE (BLUE RIBBON!!) FOR GENERAL MILLIE IN THE CROCHETED/KNITTED SOFT TOYS SECTION!!!!



Plus, by the time we got to the exhibition, an hour after it opened, the scarf and happypotamus had already been purchased :D :D :D 

 I'm still fizzing about the place several hours later, just so excited and thrilled and beaming like an idiot (see above pictures for proof)!! 
THANK YOU all for your support and appreciation for the crochet work that Anne and I create! It gave me the confidence to enter the Show, and I am just so happy with the results!

      Thank you Zelna, and thank you again for your gorgeous Road Trip Scarf pattern! Even though it didn't have a ribbon, I was still so excited to see the scarf hanging in the display - and even correctly worn by the coathanger!

    Fizz and beam away! It's definitely warranted. Congratulations on having everything chosen for display and special,amazing, full-of-excitement and hearty congratulations for your ribbons. When you sell Happypotamus, will the ribbon and certification go with it or will you keep those? I am wondering how it works when one buys/sells prize-winning items. Meanwhile, enjoy the celebrations! xxxx

      Thank you Jodie!! The ribbon comes to me after the show, but the buyer gets to pick up the toy :) I think I get to call myself a multi-award winning crochet artist though, right? I'm hoping my blanket gets sold too so I don't have to go pick anything up!

      That has a good ring to it "Multi-award-winning crochet artist" (or should it be 'artiste' ? hehehe)
      I have chosen to include a link to this post on my latest Easter greetings. I hope that is okay with you. The aim is to collate all the Easter Greetings and share what everybody is doing this Easter time. Winning at the Royal EASTER Show is impressive and deserves acclaim. :-)

    I knew you were a winner when I saw your patterns. I blabbed about you on FB, Twitter, anywhere I could. I'm currently working on the Road Trip Scarf and having a great time with it. Planning on doing more in different colors. Congratulations to you and looking forward to what you share next!

      Aww thank you! Zelna's Road Trip Scarf pattern is just amazing, isn't it? Anne and I are also working on our next designs - hopefully there'll be a little Easter project available soon ;)
